Robert's Background

Robert Hark has been active in the Maine legal community for decades. He has served as City Attorney for the City of Lewiston and represented a number of other municipalities in Maine. He has litigated important cases in the Maine and in the Federal Courts. He has argued well over thirty cases in the Maine Supreme Judicial Court, as well as cases in the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, has briefed appeals and certiorari matters in the United States Supreme Court. He served for many years on the Professional Ethics Commission of the Maine Bar, and on Governor Angus King's Committee on Judicial Selection. His involvement in the community includes membership in the East Bayside Neighborhood Organization and service as a board member and former board President of the Frannie Peabody Center. He has served as President of the Androscoggin County Bar Association and is a member of the Cumberland and Maine State and American Bar Associations.

His practice has included an extraordinary variety of endeavors, handling almost every kind of litigation in our courts, and direct involvement in an array of business and transactional matters, including sales and acquisitions, loans with and without governmental involvement, zoning and land-use controversies, and lobbying in Maine's State Capitol. He is involved in a variety of ADR matters and is a mediator and an arbitrator.

Robert received his A.B. Degree from Colby College and his J.D. degree from Boston University School of Law. He is a member of the Maine and Massachusetts Bars. He is also admitted to the Bar of the United States District Court in Maine, of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and of the United States Supreme Court.
